Does that inspire your work in some way?
I’m a bit of a nomad at heart, and have moved around a lot in my 20s especially. And that’s a need I still have to this day. Luckily I found a man who’s equally an explorer at heart, so we’re dreaming and planning to live all over the world together in the future. So home to me is not a particular place, rather a feeling of safety and belonging and that’s a feeling I can take with me everywhere I go.

Being from Oslo and coming from a high paced city with many people around you at all times, and moving to Lofoten was an adventure in its self for me to begin with. I had absolutely no intention of a long term commitment from the get go. But everyone who’s been to Lofoten knows the magic of this place.

Living in rhythm with nature is soothing, calming, grounding and helps me be in the present more. it works like a pause button, and helps me be more centered. I surf a lot, so being in the water too and riding waves, getting caught by a wave is a good analogy to life in general; you have to be able to go with it, not fight movement and change, focus on what you can control which is yourself. And being in the mountains is also like tapping into a mental super power; if you’re in a difficult phase in life, hiking to the top of a mountain looking out on the landscape you feel how small you and your problems really are. Its like you pull your focus outwards and everything seems more manageable. its medicine.

ABSOLUTELY! my sense of freedom is the most important thing in my life. And not feeling «stuck» somewhere, and being able to move around where nothing is permanent and everything is changing is a great knowing. And that goes for my work life too. I could never have a 9-5 job and when I’ve had them it always gave me a feeling that my soul was dying bit by bit. Not to sound too dramatic, haha. but it really did. So even tough it scares me shitless sometimes, not having the typical stability with work and income, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
